It may not feel like it, but Summer ’18 is just around the corner, and what feels more like summer than Codey the Bear in a snorkel. Over the next two months, expect to see a large amount of content being delivered to your social media channels surrounding the latest Salesforce release, Summer ’18. Salesforce has three core platform releases a year that brings new features, tools, and extend the capability of all our systems. I hope this post becomes your foundation for learning about Summer ’18, as it will be regularly updated with content as the release draws closer.

As with every release, there is a lot to digest. I would recommend reviewing the release notes for the core areas and product your business uses. YouTube videos, Salesforce content, as well as blog posts, are also fantastic ways to digest some cool features you might have skipped over. A great place to start is our First Look post where we go through some of the core themes of this release.
If you are new to Salesforce releases, there are a few ways to get started with the overwhelming amount of features packed into each release.
– Interactive Release Notes (A favourite of most admins)
– PDF Version (472 page document for the hardcore)
One of the main reasons for Admins and Developers to get so excited about each release is the addition of features. New features to play around with, implement and extend your current Salesforce functionality is one of the reasons this ecosystem is so exciting. And unlike Christmas, releases come 3 times a year!
After having a read through the release notes, I like to get other peoples opinions on their favorite features, and the best way to do this is through other community members blogs. This not only gives you a highlight of some others peoples top features, but also an insight into how they intend to use them. Check out some of the community blogs below..
